Cleaning Up The Trash With Your Community Consultant
I grew up in the “Give a Hoot – Don’t Pollute era!” We all want clean outdoor spaces to enjoy, play, picnic, hike, and be and stay healthy. This is the minimum expectation.
But I’m concerned with what I see today, aren’t you??? As I get my morning walk in, it is easy to find pleasure and disgust. The pleasure is feeling the wind on my face and the early spring sun on my coated body as I work to get steps in, getting a little fitness to start the day. Raise the heart rate, get that old blood circulating, and stretch at the end of said walk. It feels pleasurable.
What’s Going On With The Outdoors
I am disgusted with all of the TRASH on the sidewalk, ditches, bushes, and lawns as the winter ends to a spring of new life. TRASH!
Why are motorists throwing this out their car windows? We raised our children (millennials) to be responsible, put trash in the can, and recycle. A carry-in and carry-out mentally on trail hikes, be prideful, etc. Maybe this trash is blowing out of open cans or off vehicles carrying it to the dump.
There is a lack of respect in our environment, including our neighborhoods, towns, cities, and states.
It’s Not Just One Place Outdoors
On a recent trip through Arkansas in early 2024, a public service radio announcement told citizens and listeners that it was time to clean up and stop throwing trash on the highways and byways, telling listeners to clean up the razorback state!
Last spring, on a walk collected all sorts of trash, including cigarette butts, small bottles of 4oz of rocket fuel (alcohol), candy wrappers, broken glass pieces, soda pop cans, and an old shoe.
We can do better, have more pride in our environment, and be conscious of place and time.
It’s Time For a Change, Using a Community Consultant
With all the new mega car washing stores and the need for fuel fill-ups, additional trash spots can be added. This will allow drivers to dump their trash into a container with a lid. Maybe travelers can add small trash cans or bags to their Automobiles, SUVs, Vans, and Trucks.
Regarding your local community, your local chamber of commerce or community service clubs could sponsor trash bags and cans with logos. As a community, we can do better, have more pride, and be conscious of place and time.
Together, we can make the pollution STOP!

Another issue is that video games are typically serious anyway with the primary focus on knowing things rather than entertainment. Although, it has an entertainment aspect to keep your young ones engaged, each and every game is often designed to improve a specific group of skills or programs, such as math or science.
